Job description

Great technicians know that the right shop can make all the difference. At City Auto Sales, we're building a growing service department where experienced technicians can focus on repairs, diagnostics, and quality workmanship without unnecessary chaos.

We're hiring a Full-Time Automotive Service Technician for our Murfreesboro location. If you have significant automotive repair experience, your own tools, and take pride in getting the job done correctly, we'd like to talk with you.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This position offers a consistent workload with a strong focus on internal vehicle repairs and maintenance. You'll work alongside service writers and other technicians to diagnose concerns, complete repairs, and keep vehicles moving through the shop efficiently.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnosing drivability, electrical, and mechanical concerns
  • Completing complex repairs accurately and efficiently
  • Inspecting vehicles and identifying additional repair needs
  • Communicating repair findings with service writers
  • Participating in daily team meetings
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Helping newer technicians develop their skills when needed
  • Following established safety and quality procedures

Because much of the work is internal, you can spend more time concentrating on the repair and less time dealing directly with retail customers.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Your experience matters here. Compensation starts at $30-$35+ per flag hour, depending on experience, with higher earning potential for technicians who consistently perform at a high level and excel at diagnostics.

You'll also receive:

Health & Financial Benefits

  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • 120 hours of PTO after 90 days

Shop & Employee Perks

  • Temperature-controlled shop
  • Paid training
  • Uniforms provided
  • Gym membership
  • Employee discounts on vehicles and services
  • Weekly Saturday company lunches
  • Summer cookouts
  • Holiday events
  • Annual employee appreciation celebrations
  • Bi-weekly pay
EXPERIENCE THAT FITS THIS ROLE

This opportunity is designed for an experienced automotive professional who can confidently diagnose problems and complete repairs with limited supervision.

You'll need:

  • 8+ years of automotive technician experience
  • Proven automotive diagnostic and repair skills
  • Your own tools
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Availability for rotating Saturdays

We'd especially like to hear from candidates with ASE certifications or experience working in independent, aftermarket, or high-volume automotive repair environments.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is dependable, takes pride in their work, and works well as part of a team.

WORK SCHEDULE

The shop operates seven days less one-we are closed Sundays.

Your schedule will include:

  • Monday-Friday between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, based on the team's rotation
  • Rotating Saturdays
  • Sundays off

The goal is to provide predictable coverage while maintaining a schedule that works for the team.
