Director, Data Analysis

The successful candidate will possess a deep subject matter expertise in data management practices and risk management frameworks. The role also requires excellent problem solving, communication, and judgment skills. The ability to navigate within a complex, fast moving environment is also a must.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute on data management strategy
  • Define and monitor KRI's and escalate areas of non-compliance as appropriate
  • Oversee the design and execution of data controls
  • Oversee data quality monitoring and data issue management practices
  • Monitor the health of data catalog metadata
  • Manage team of high performing data professionals

Basic Qualifications:
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field) plus at least 8 years of experience performing data analytics, or currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Master's Degree plus at least 6 years of experience performing data analytics with an expectation that required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date.
  • At least 6 years of experience performing professional data analysis work
  • At least 6 years of experience leading and developing with open source data technologies
  • At least 4 years of experience managing people

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • 10+ years of Professional Data Analysis experience
  • 5+ years of Big Data experience (AWS and Spark)
  • 5+ years of cloud native (AWS) data processing experience
  • 5+ years of Process Management experience
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Python
  • 5+ years of Data Governance experience
  • 2+ years of experience with streaming data technologies (Kafka, Flink, Spark streaming)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Plano, TX: $209,500 - $239,100 for Director, Data Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
