Job description

Assistive Technology Specialistย  in Parsons Kansas

Summary

Provide support to individuals with disabilities in obtaining assistive technology devices and services that will allow the person to live an independent lifestyle in the home or community of their choice.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Assist in securing assistive technology equipment for loan or lease
  2. Provide training, technical support and information about devices as needed by customers
  3. Assess need for assistive technology training for service providers (e.g.Vocational Rehabilitation, Adult and Medical Service case managers, teachers, medical support staff) and provide training and/or give information about where needed training can be obtained
  4. Assist with workshops and presentations
  5. Prepare a cumulative site report for all customers served through the access site and submit it to the CEO/Director.
  6. Maintain the Assistive Technology for Kansans program database and required documentation for Kansas Medicaid Assistive Technology Case Management

Job Requirements

  1. At least 18 years of age
  2. Have a valid Driver's License
  3. Become knowledgeable with assistive technology devices and services in the areas of aids for daily living, computer hardware and software, home modifications, aids for vision and hearing, durable medical equipment and communications devices
  4. Become familiar with public and private programs that provide assistive technology devices and services to individuals with disabilities
