What is a full time assembly job?

Full Time Assembly jobs involve working as part of a team to build or put together products, components, or equipment in a manufacturing or production environment. Employees in these positions typically follow detailed instructions, use hand or power tools, and ensure that finished products meet quality standards. Full time roles usually require a standard 40-hour work week, may involve shift work, and often include benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. These positions are essential in industries like automotive, electronics, furniture, and consumer goods manufacturing.

What does a full time assembly worker do?

In a full-time assembly role, your day often starts with a team meeting to review production goals and safety protocols. You’ll spend most of your shift assembling components, operating machinery, and inspecting products for quality. Collaboration with other team members and supervisors is common to ensure workflow efficiency and address any issues that arise. Attention to detail, adherence to safety guidelines, and maintaining a steady pace are key challenges. Overtime may occasionally be required during peak production periods.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a full time assembly worker?

To thrive as a Full Time Assembly Worker, you typically need good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and sometimes basic computer-operated machinery is often required, and certifications such as OSHA safety training can be beneficial. Reliability, teamwork, and strong communication skills help individuals excel in fast-paced production environments. These skills are essential for ensuring product quality, maintaining safety, and achieving production targets efficiently.

Our expertise in utilizing enterprise resource planning (ERP), 3D computer aided design (CAD) software, and on-site manual and CNC machines, make us a one-stop-shop for industry-leading products, turnkey solutions, and worldwide service.
If you're looking to make a difference and Build Something Greater at a dynamic, forward-looking company, Welker might be the right fit for you.

About Our Assembly Technician

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated Assembly Technician with a strong desire to learn about our products. If you take pride in assembling parts into our products, this is the position for you!

It's a physical job - you may be on your feet for 90% to 95% of your workday. You will be expected to safely lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. Bending, stretching, and climbing ladders will be daily activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts to specifications accurately and within a timely manner, including assembling complete systems
  • Learn and understand the technical specifications, drawing, and be able to follow work instructions
  • Must have some knowledge, or be able to learn tubing, electrical wiring, and circuits
  • Test products to work order specifications
  • These are some of the more frequent tasks you could expect to perform during your workday, but you may be called upon to fulfill other duties as needed.

Key Skills

  • Communication: You will interact with peers, team leads, and managers in a kind and professional manner, because communication is essential for a successful day
  • Teamwork: You work well with others with an attitude of cooperation and achievement, and you are committed to the success of the team as a whole
  • Work Ethic: You are production-focused and have a highly developed sense of urgency and prioritization to help us meet our delivery timelines
  • Commitment to Learning: You are committed to learning our extensive product line, from what these products do to understanding the mechanics of how they work
  • Attention to Detail: You make a conscious effort to focus on quality and safety

The Welker team is a diverse and motivated group. These key skills keep our Assembly department running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable in a warehouse setting and with the physical requirements of the position
  • One to two years of assembly experience preferred
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Forklift experience a plus; training and certification provided as needed

Does this sound like you? Submit your application, and let's talk!

This is a full-time position with the occasional opportunity for overtime. Both first and second shifts are available.
Starting salary is within the posted range and is determined by experience, education, and potential. Welker cares for our employees, so we offer competitive benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health/dental/vision insurance, 401k with company matching, and tuition reimbursement.
