The Child Care Security Officer will foster a safe and secure working environment for all employees, clients, and visitors.

This is an unarmed position.

Schedule Availability:

  • Full Time Schedule for Bright Horizons at Ballard Blocks: Monday - Friday, 6:30am to 3pm (with 30 minute lunch) or 9:30am to 6pm (with 30 minute lunch)

  • Full Time Schedule for Bright Horizons at West Seattle: Monday - Friday, 6:30am to 3pm (with 30 minute lunch) or 9:30am to 6pm (with 30 minute lunch)

  • Full Time Schedule for Bright Horizons at Lower Queen Anne: Monday - Friday, 6:30am to 3pm (with 30 minute lunch) or 9:30am to 6pm (with 30 minute lunch)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain access control over designated access points, responsible for visitor access management

  • Utilize video surveillance systems

  • Conduct tours / patrols of the interior and exterior premises

  • Detect and deter illicit activity, including loitering, trespass and other transient activity

  • Assists clients, business visitors and guests

  • Respond to security, facilities and medical emergencies

  • May visit and respond to other Centers in the vicinity

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 3 years of security officer experience operating in a full time capacity, which may include military or law enforcement service

  • Prior de-escalation training

  • First Aid / CPR / AED certifications

  • Personal transportation

  • This is an unarmed position

  • At this time, Bright Horizons will not sponsor an applicant for employment authorization/visa for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in criminal justice or related discipline

  • Experience working in a fast paced environment and ability to deal with shifting priorities

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required, including de-escalation

  • Must be proficient in MS Office

  • Experience conducting security duties in a school or childcare setting

  • Experience utilizing surveillance cameras and access control programs

  • ASIS membership

  • State security license / certification

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is between $25.00 - $29.00 per hour . The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.

Depending on hire date and subject to applicable eligibility requirements and accrual schedules, new Full Time Employees in this role receive up to: 9 paid holidays annually; 40 hours of sick time per year based on full-time schedule, and 80 hours of vacation time per year based on full-time schedule(vacation time may be used for sick leave purposes under any applicable state or local sick or safe time law).
