Job Summary:
Knight Transportation is seeking a dynamic AS400 Developer to design and develop applications based on business end-user needs. The role involves programming, coding, testing, and documentation of complex programs, as well as consulting with business leaders to clarify project requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Perform program design, coding, testing, development and documentation activities of complex programs.
• Review Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs) and determine necessary follow up questions to clarify expectations and estimated amount of time to complete code changes.
• Consult with business leaders to gain deeper understanding of request.
• Participate in integration, training and implementation activities.
• Assist with the development of technical specifications, development approaches and time requirements for average projects or packaged software implementation.
• Report status updates accurately to IT and/or business leaders.
• Provide workable solutions to fix project delays.
• Refine and update technical/business skills and experience through work assignments, advanced technical/business training and attending professional/business industry conferences.
• Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 8+ years programming experience required.
• 5+ years RPG (Report Program Generator) programming experience required.
• Bachelors in computer science or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities appropriately.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to collaborate with others.
Preferred:
