Duties
Help

• Analyze and review inventory database system to prepare necessary adjustments to general materials, passport, smart card material products balances, related paper trails, and on hand inventory quantities reports.
• Review and evaluate daily and monthly inventory reports to determine accuracy of load tickets, move orders, transfers and other documents.
• Answer inquiries regarding general materials, passports, smart card materials products availability in the inventory and inventory balances through meetings.
• Prepare and submit weekly analysis of system deficiencies for appropriate action and corrections.
• Review, coordinate, and maintain the statuses of all outstanding back orders.

• You must be a current Career or Career Conditional GPO employee to apply.
• Selectee may be required to pass preemployment requirements prior to appointment.
• Selectee must undergo a background investigation for Suitability.
• Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
• TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify.
• Overtime may be required.

Qualifications
To qualify for the Inventory Management Specialist, PG - 2010 - 9 , you must meet the following requirements:
Specialized Experience:
One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular specialized experience, education or training to perform successfully the duties of the position or typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes: (1) Analyzing inventory management reports; (2) Utilizing automated inventory management systems to maintain current inventory data; and (3) Researching and analyzing information to resolve questions and issues regarding inventory discrepancies.
OR
Education:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
Combination of education and experience which equals 100%.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may be used or this grade level.

If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Background Investigation:
For a Suitability:
To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a background investigation for Suitability. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background check for Suitability. This review could include fingerprints and credit checks, as well as a full field FBI background investigation and tax and bar checks for attorney applicants. The background investigation covers a period of seven to ten years depending on the nature of the position; this process may take 6 weeks or longer. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer, if the candidate is unable to pass the background investigation.
The selectee will work shift 1, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
