Job description

Position: Interior Restraint Engineer
Work Location: Novi, MI
Duration: Fulltime/Direct Hire 
 
Job Description & Skill Requirement:
 
Responsibilities
On-Site Engineer to support Novi, MI, activities as dictated by the point of time of the development cycle.
8+ years’ experience in engineering interior restraint systems (Seat Belt and Airbag) thru all development phases
Experience with Catia software system and pulling in and cutting sections in data.
Understanding of restraint system requirements Seat Belt and Airbag
Experience in DV/PV testing phase for restraint systems (Seat Belt and Airbag)
Fast resolution of open issues for restraint systems
Plus, to have knowledge of the VW systems
Strong understanding of the quality process from DFMEA, PFMEA and Control plans
Take direction from Scout Engineering to modify components for engineering/design/safety requirements
Work with Supplier(s) to ensure proper upload of data into the VW system
Part updates and changes to existing parts / assemblies needed to support manufacturing feasibility, part performance improvements, and/or changes to interfacing components /systems.
Support restraint systems commodity DV/PV testing and lead issue resolution
Work with supplier to ensure tooling timing supports downstream deliverables
Issue resolution for all open restraint issues thru build phase(s)
