Work You'll Do

As an Agentic Capability Engineer, you will operate as a platform-focused engineer who designs, builds, and maintains the agentic infrastructure that powers AI-driven delivery at scale. The ACE develops AI agents, agent systems, crafting reusable prompt and context engineering patterns, building MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, and integrating platforms that enable other orchestrators to work.

Additionally, you will:

  • Design agent system architecture and implement DevSecOps practices for AI workflows
  • Build and maintain AI agents, agent systems, and reusable skills/workflows for delivery teams
  • Develop and govern prompt, context engineering patterns that produce consistent, high-quality outputs
  • Stand up MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, CLI tools, and agent testing frameworks
  • Deliver platform configuration and integrations (CI/CD pipelines, repositories, environments, guardrails)
  • Standardize orchestration components-templates, harnesses, observability-for enterprise reuse
  • Improve reliability, performance, and maintainability of agent delivery capabilities over time
  • Provide technical guidance to ADEs and AEMs on effective use of agentic infrastructure

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or Engineering.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated platform or infrastructure impact
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying, or integrating AI/ML systems in production environments
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience with prompt engineering and context optimization skills with measurable quality improvements

  • Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $131,000 to $218,300.
