Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is currently recruiting a Director of Intake, exempt, Fulltime (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm) with 4 years experience in Behavioral Healthcare. Director of Intake is accountable for directing the Assessment and Referral activities at the facility. Intake Director will report to the CEO. Join our team in fulfilling our Mission to be the leaders in Behavioral Health by delivering quality services to those entrusted in our care.

Intake Director Responsibilities

  • Ensures proper communication and follow up is made throughout the admissions and assessment process i.e. pre-certification, on-call doctor notification, administration is notified of problems or significant events
  • Accomplishes department objectives by selecting, orienting, and training, supervising staff; organizing and monitoring their work process and performance.
  • Ensures a comprehensive assessment to patients seeking treatment for psychiatric disorders.
  • Completes initial assessment on patients seeking treatment.
  • Supervises staff in responding to all inquiries for services via phone, fax or walk-ins.
  • Responds to all incoming inquiries within established timelines.
  • Interprets treatment to patient and family to ensure understanding of treatment options.
  • Refers and triages patients to other sources of treatment when appropriate.
  • Assesses and develops team skills in assessment, patient and family interaction and overall therapeutic care.
  • Collects, monitors and reports service performance data as required to hospital quality program.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification:

-Registered Nurse, BSN required or Masters Degree preferred.

-Licenses -Texas Licensed RN BSN, or Therapist (LCSW, or LMSW), Masters Required.

Current CPR Certification; Satori Certification within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge and Skills:

-Knowledge of applicable State and Federal regulations, HIPAA and Joint Commission standards.

-Knowledge of milieu management.

-Knowledge of appropriate clinical assessment, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.

-Knowledge of EMTALA and crisis intervention

-Knowledge of DSM

Prefer four (4) years of progressive experience in intake/admissions. experience in management level positions in Behavioral Health and 1+ years in supervisory or management providing direct clinical care.

-Must have experience in interviewing, and conflict-resolution skills, and provide director level oversight of strategic planning, organization growth, and budget management

-Excellent Leadership skills.
