Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a specialization in mindfulness practices to join our dynamic team at Acra Behavioral Health & Consulting in Fresno, California. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work while primarily serving clients through our outpatient office. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalized mindfulness-based interventions, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), aiming for stress alleviation and enhanced well-being.
  • Conduct comprehensive initial assessments to identify each client’s unique stressors, emphasizing a tailored approach to therapy.
  • Guide clients through mindfulness exercises, meditation practices, and effective breathing techniques, ensuring they develop skills for self-awareness and emotional regulation.
  • Facilitate engaging group workshops focused on mindfulness practices, stress management, and resilience-building strategies to promote community wellness.
  • Incorporate mindfulness techniques into individualized therapy sessions to effectively address clients' specific mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with fellow therapists and healthcare professionals, striving for a holistic and integrative approach in client treatment.
  • Maintain precise and detailed documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and mindfulness interventions while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Engage in personal mindfulness practices and career development activities, fostering continuous personal and professional growth in the field of therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus on serving a diverse clientele within the Fresno area, including individuals who may be experiencing high levels of stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges. Collaboration with clients on their journey toward improved mental health will be essential as you utilize mindfulness strategies to empower them in finding peace and fulfillment in their daily lives.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license to practice as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
  • Strong foundation in integrating mindfulness principles into therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent communication skills to build rapport and trust with clients, fostering a compassionate and supportive therapeutic environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is preferred but not mandatory; however, candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of mindfulness practices.
  • Proven ability to facilitate group therapy or workshops is highly advantageous.
