What you can expect to work on…
The Manufacturing Science amp; Technology (MS amp;T) Accelerator Team Lead will take a leading role in scaling up accelerator processes, optimizing production workflows, and supporting transfer of technical knowledge across Niowave’s MS amp;T and Production functions. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and operational excellence while providing mentorship and coaching to developing scientists and technicians.
  • Leads and supports production accelerator troubleshooting and process improvement projects, ensuring technical robustness and reproducibility
  • Collaborates with the Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure successful implementation of Ac-225 process improvements
  • Conducts troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production and MS amp;T issues
  • Maintains compliance with all cGMP and radiation safety procedures
  • Supports preparation and review of technical documentation including SOPs, batch records, process descriptions, and validation protocols
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to increase yield, purity, and process control
  • Provides day-to-day technical and operational guidance to MS amp;T team members in partnership with leadership
  • Serves as a mentor and coach to early career scientists and technicians, fostering a positive learning culture
  • Coordinates onboarding, training, and competency assessments in collaboration with Training Specialists amp; Supervisor
What you need to succeed…
  • Bachelor degree in science/engineering field or equivalent education/experience
    • Physics, nuclear engineering or related field
  • 6+ years’ experience operating in accelerator operations environment including hands-on experience with the following:
    • Accelerator systems
    • Radioactive material
    • Routine production environment
    • Regulated environment
  • 2+ years’ experience of progressive technical leadership and mentoring team members
  • Embraces amp; models the Niowave Values of Teamwork, Courage, Integrity, and Upright Zeal
  • Understands how to integrate into a new team/organization
  • Appreciates the current state of systems and processes and exercises sound judgment in proposing and implementing improvements

  • Hands-on experience utilizing lean manufacturing principles for continuous process improvements (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S)
  • Familiarity with process transfer or scale-up between R amp;D and cGMP manufacturing
  • Prior experience managing or supervising technical staff
  • Familiarity with process transfer or scale-up between R amp;D and cGMP manufacturing
  • Formal training/application of Project Management

  • Full-time position
  • The company’s standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts
  • This position will have regular working hours Monday - Friday within the standard operating hours
  • There is an expectation of adjusting working hours outside the standard hours to meet operational requirements
  • This position will have on-call shifts for performing production accelerator troubleshooting as needed
  • Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the role
