Job description


Position Description:
Note: Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.
Develops and maintains software solutions leveraging Oracle RDBMS (PL/SQL) within a DevOps environment, utilizing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices. Designs and implements cloud-based solutions using AWS services (DMS, SNS, SQS, Lambda, AWS Glue), containerization, and orchestration technologies to support cloud migration initiatives. Builds and integrates APIs for large-scale, highly available enterprise-class platforms using Python and Scala. Participates in the oversight of data warehouse, reporting, and analytics platforms (Snowflake), employing ETL processes across SQL and NoSQL databases using AWS Glue, Apache Spark, and custom Python/Scala applications to enable robust data management and insights. Develops interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau for business intelligence and reporting. Coordinates with cross-functional teams in an Agile team setting (Kanban and SCRUM). Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications using Python, Scala, and Spark frameworks.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing software engineering and data processing functions using Oracle PL/SQL, AWS (Lambda, Glue), Python, Scala, Snowflake in financial services and telecommunications domains.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing software engineering and data processing functions using Oracle PL/SQL, AWS (Lambda, Glue), Python, Scala, Snowflake in financial services and telecommunications domains.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") implementing large-scale data processing and file management solutions using Python, including developing ETL pipelines and automation scripts, and implementing data validation and error handling frameworks; and developing REST APIs for reading and writing data to DynamoDB for enterprise applications.
  • DE developing distributed computing applications using Apache Spark for big data processing and stream processing, including Spark SQL, DataFrames, and performance tuning; and integrating Spark with data warehousing solutions for real-time analytics and batch processing workflows.
  • DE building cloud-based data integration solutions using AWS Glue for ETL processes, integrating with S3, Oracle RDS, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB, and implementing job scheduling and error handling in AWS environments; and utilizing Splunk and DataDog for application monitoring, log analysis, and performance tracking.
  • DE designing enterprise data warehouse solutions using Snowflake for scalable analytics and reporting, including data modeling, query optimization, and integrating with Tableau for executive reporting; and managing warehouse scaling, clustering, and cost optimization.
