TrustRadius

Austin, TX • On-site

Full-time

Job description

Company Description

We use leading technologies such as Node.js, MongoDB, Backbone.js, and Twitter Bootstrap delivered via a hosted PaaS.  We seek aptitude and passion over a keyword match with particular technologies.

TrustRadius (www.trustradius.com) is an online community of business professionals discovering, evaluating, comparing, and discussing best practices for the business software they use every day - think TripAdvisor, Yelp, or Zagat for business software.  At TrustRadius you will be working with a successful leadership team with a track record of growing companies from zero to IPO.  We are driven and competitive, but believe in work-life balance.  We are passionate about our mission and committed to our success, but not at the sacrifice of health and family.  We are well-funded but frugal, and test and invest in everything we do.

Job Description

Are you an expert software engineer, interested in online communities like Yelp and LinkedIn and what makes them tick?  Are you manically focused on data-driven decision making and quick iteration?  Do you believe good ideas can come from anyone on a talented and focused team? Do you want to help change the way people buy and use business software?

We are looking for people who bring intelligence, energy, creativity and a desire to constantly learn to the table.  This could be the right position for you if you are looking for opportunity to :

  • Get involved in every aspect of product development from requirements through design, implementation and deployment
  • Learn something new every week
  • Use some of the hottest software technologies
  • Operate like a top-notch engineer, not a cowboy.  Unit tests, documentation, internationalization are not optional.

TrustRadius seeks an engineer to help drive the implementation and evolution of TrustRadius' website across the full stack.

Qualifications

The application stack looks like this:

  • Front-end - JQuery, Requirejs, Backbone, Bootstrap 3, Jade, Less
  • Back-end - Node.js, Redis, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Heroku

If you're already an expert in all of these, then that's great; there aren't a lot of you.  If you've got experience building a web application in Ruby or Java with a relational database and strong front-end development skills and a desire to learn, that works too.  We're looking first and foremost for the right people. That said, if you're not already pretty proficient in JavaScript on the front-end or you've never built a scalable/reliable web application, this is probably not the opportunity for you.
