Job description

Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms.
Role Summary
Saronic Technologies is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Program Systems team within the Programs organization. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical internal applications that drive operational visibility, decision-making, and execution across Saronic's growing portfolio of Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) programs.
You will work at the intersection of software engineering and program operations, building tools that connect real-time production data, program governance, demand forecasting, and customer engagement into a unified digital thread. Our application portfolio runs on Palantir Foundry and modern web technologies, and our team leverages AI-assisted development workflows to ship at startup speed with enterprise-grade impact.
This is a high-ownership role. You will take features from concept to production, collaborate directly with program managers, engineers, production leads, and executives, and see your work used daily to support national security missions.
Responsibilities
  • Application Development & Maintenance
    • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React for front-end and back-end components
    • Build and extend applications within the Palantir Foundry ecosystem, including data pipelines, ontology-backed applications, and Foundry-native integrations
    • Develop scalable, responsive interfaces that serve internal stakeholders across Programs, Finance, Production, and Engineering
    • Optimize application performance, reliability, and security through testing, code review, and performance tuning

    Data Integration & Platform Engineering
    • Integrate applications with enterprise systems (MES, ERP, CRM) and third-party APIs to ensure interoperability across the digital thread
    • Build and maintain data models, pipelines, and integrations within Palantir Foundry to power real-time operational dashboards and analytics
    • Collaborate with the Foundry platform team and Palantir embedded engineers to ensure alignment on architecture, data standards, and shared infrastructure

    AI-Assisted Development & Tooling
    • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) to accelerate build cycles and maintain high development velocity
    • Contribute to the design of agentic workflows and internal development frameworks that scale the team's capacity
    • Support citizen development initiatives by building guardrails, templates, and reusable components for non-developer teams

    Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Program Managers, Directors, and operational leads to translate business requirements into technical solutions
    • Participate in Agile development practices including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
    • Support customer-facing application development, including portals and reporting tools that represent Saronic's brand and mission
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer working with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience with server-side development using Node.js or Python
  • Familiarity with relational database systems and data modeling concepts
  • Proficiency with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry, including Pipeline Builder, ontology design, or Foundry-native application development
  • Experience building applications that integrate with MES, ERP, or production management systems
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and workflows
  • Experience in defense, national security, or high-growth startup environments
  • Experience with data visualization libraries (D3.js, Recharts, Plotly) and dashboard design
  • Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, or equivalent systems

Key Competencies
  • Builder Mentality: Builds reliable, maintainable applications that scale with organizational growth
  • Shipping Velocity: Moves fast from concept to deployment, comfortable iterating in production with real users
  • Cross-Functional Fluency: Works seamlessly with non-technical stakeholders to understand and solve operational problems
  • Mission Orientation: Understands that the applications you build directly support mission execution and customer commitments
  • Ownership: Takes full responsibility for features end-to-end -from scoping to production support
  • AI-Forward: Embraces AI tooling and modern workflows as force multipliers, not novelties
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Occasional standing and walking within the office
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
  • Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports
  • Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies
  • Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages)
