Balancing front-end and back-end tasks within tight deadlines can be demanding, especially when project requirements change or are not clearly defined. Staying organized and proactive in managing your workload will help you handle these challenges effectively.

What is a full stack developer contract?

A Full Stack Developer Contract refers to a temporary or project-based employment arrangement where a developer is responsible for both front-end and back-end aspects of web or software development. Full stack developers are skilled in multiple technologies, enabling them to handle databases, servers, systems engineering, and client-facing interfaces. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full stack developer on contract, and why are they important?

Job description

E-Commerce Full-Stack Developer

Whiskey Library is seeking a talented Full-Stack E-Commerce Developer for a long-term partnership. Join us at the forefront of reshaping how customers discover, purchase, and engage with bourbon. This isn’t a role for maintaining legacy code or sifting through endless backlogs—you’ll tackle real business challenges, architect scalable solutions, and rapidly deploy new products in a dynamic environment.

As a core part of our technology-driven journey, you’ll have a direct impact on modernizing the customer experience. You’ll work independently, proactively, and creatively, transforming initial concepts into robust solutions without constant oversight. Your execution, problem-solving skills, ownership mentality, and ability to learn and adapt quickly matter more to us than a fancy resume or experience at a large company.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and enhance Shopify storefronts and landing pages

  • Develop customer-facing tools for subscriptions and personalization

  • Create internal dashboards and operational systems

  • Build custom Shopify applications and backend workflows

  • Optimize checkout, site performance, and conversion workflows

  • Collaborate closely with the team to turn concepts into scalable products

  • Write clean, maintainable, production-ready code

Tech Stack:
Shopify (Liquid, APIs, theme architecture), JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, SQL, HTML/CSS, REST/GraphQL APIs. We prioritize efficient development and actively use AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot. Candidates should be comfortable leveraging these modern workflows.

Who Thrives Here:
This opportunity is ideal for those who take ownership, move fast, communicate clearly, and work well independently. If you prefer highly structured corporate environments, constant supervision, or rigid processes, this may not be the right fit.

If you’re passionate about solving tough problems, shipping great products, and advancing e-commerce in the bourbon industry, we’d love to hear from you.
