Job description

The Contracts Administrator supports Redpath Canada Limited projects from the North Bay, Ontario work location by managing the full contract lifecycle from bid through execution and close-out. The role is responsible for reviewing Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and Requests for Tender (RFT), analyzing contractual risks, drafting and negotiating agreements, and ensuring contracts are administered in compliance with Redpath policies and applicable Canadian legal and commercial requirements.

The Contracts Administrator works closely with operations, procurement, finance, and project teams to ensure contract terms are clearly understood, risks are mitigated, and obligations are effectively managed across the project lifecycle.

Education: 

Required: Degree or diploma in Business, Law, Engineering, Mining, or a related field

Preferred: Paralegal license/certification, Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma, or Contracts-related specialization

Work Experience: 

Required: 3-5 years of contract administration experience

Preferred: Experience in mining, construction, or project-based environments, ideally supporting Canadian operations

Bilingualism is an asset

  • Review RFQs, RFTs, and client contracts, identifying commercial and contractual risks and recommending mitigation strategies
  • Support bid-stage contract reviews and assist proposal teams with commercial and contractual input
  • Draft, review, and redline contracts including client agreements, subcontracts, professional services agreements, and NDAs
  • Ensure all contracts align with Redpath policies and commercial standards
  • Assist with contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Provide contract interpretation and guidance to project managers, site teams, and functional groups
  • Support contract administration during execution, including change management, variation tracking, and notice requirements
  • Maintain contract registers and documentation (correspondence, changes, claims, insurance, etc.)
  • Prepare contract summaries ("crib sheets") for operations, project controls, and finance teams
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure subcontract terms align with prime contracts
  • Support claims preparation and dispute resolution where required
  • Assist in compiling progress claims by providing support, backup, KPI review
  • Maintain and improve contract templates and standard documentation
  • Ensure proper document control and version management for all contract-related documents

Salary Range (Base): $85,000 - $107,000 - Based on knowledge, skills and experience.
