Job description

About ZUUZ

ZUUZ is a growing Minnesota ecommerce brand in the hemp and cannabis industry. We sell consumer products through ecommerce and are expanding into retail, wholesale, licensed cannabis, and THC-free wellness products.

We are a startup—not a large, fully established company.

That means we are still building systems, improving processes, launching new products, and determining the best way to structure our operation. Priorities may change as the company grows and as regulations within the hemp and cannabis industries evolve.

This role is best suited for someone who finds that environment exciting. You should be comfortable wearing multiple hats, solving problems without always having a detailed playbook, and helping create the systems that a larger company might already have in place.
About the Position

We are looking for a dependable, organized Ecommerce Fulfillment & Operations Coordinator to help manage the daily operational side of ZUUZ.

Your first priority will be making sure customer orders are packed accurately and shipped on time. You will also help manage inventory, shipping supplies, returns, wholesale orders, receiving, warehouse organization, and other operational projects.

As the business grows, the position may expand into broader responsibilities involving retail operations, wholesale, product launches, inventory planning, and coordination with our licensed cannabis and production operations.

You will work directly with the founder and will play an important role in building the operational foundation of the company.

What You’ll Do

  • Process, pick, pack, and ship daily ecommerce orders
  • Ensure orders are accurate, properly packaged, and shipped on schedule
  • Monitor unfulfilled orders, shipping exceptions, and packages that have not received carrier scans
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts for products, packaging, labels, and shipping materials
  • Receive, count, inspect, and organize incoming inventory
  • Keep fulfillment stations, storage areas, and inventory locations clean and organized
  • Prepare replacement orders, returns, and other order corrections
  • Help identify and resolve Shopify order issues
  • Prepare and coordinate wholesale orders
  • Maintain adequate levels of boxes, mailers, labels, inserts, and other supplies
  • Coordinate carrier pickups and outgoing shipments
  • Create and follow checklists, standard operating procedures, and inventory processes
  • Support product launches, promotional periods, and higher-volume shipping days
  • Help organize inventory for ecommerce, retail, wholesale, and future licensed cannabis operations
  • Communicate inventory shortages, delays, mistakes, and operational risks before they become larger problems
  • Assist with other operations-related projects as the company grows

What We’re Looking For

  • Dependable and able to arrive consistently and on time
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities
  • Able to follow documented procedures while also identifying ways to improve them
  • Comfortable working in a startup where responsibilities and priorities may evolve
  • Able to communicate problems clearly and promptly
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new software
  • Able to perform repetitive fulfillment tasks accurately
  • Able to lift, move, and organize normal shipping cartons and inventory
  • Comfortable working around legal hemp and cannabis products
  • At least 21 years old
  • Willing to follow all applicable security, inventory, quality, and compliance procedures

Helpful Experience

The following experience is helpful but not required:

  • Ecommerce fulfillment
  • Shopify
  • Shipping software
  • Inventory management
  • Warehouse or distribution work
  • Retail operations
  • Wholesale order processing
  • Consumer packaged goods
  • Food, supplement, pharmaceutical, hemp, or cannabis operations
  • Work in a regulated or quality-controlled environment

We care more about dependability, organization, judgment, and willingness to learn than having a perfect resume.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first several months, success in this role means:

  • Customer orders consistently ship on time
  • Orders are packed accurately with very few mistakes
  • Labels are not created days before packages actually ship
  • Inventory records closely match physical inventory
  • Shipping supplies do not unexpectedly run out
  • The fulfillment area remains clean and organized
  • Problems are identified and communicated early
  • Daily work is guided by repeatable systems rather than memory
  • The founder can spend less time managing fulfillment and more time growing the company

Why Work at ZUUZ?

Help Build Something From the Ground Up

This is an opportunity to join ZUUZ while the company is still being built. You will not simply step into a finished system and perform one narrow task. You will help improve how orders, inventory, wholesale, retail, and daily operations are managed.

The right person can have a meaningful impact on how the company develops.

Opportunity to Grow With the Role

The position is expected to evolve as ZUUZ grows. Someone who performs well may have the opportunity to take on broader responsibility across ecommerce, inventory, retail, wholesale, and business operations.

That growth is based on company needs and individual performance; it is not a guaranteed promotion timeline.

A Fast-Moving Industry

ZUUZ operates in the legal hemp and cannabis space, an industry that is rapidly developing and frequently changing.

Applicants should understand that regulations, products, business models, and company priorities may evolve. We are looking for someone who can remain organized and adaptable during that change.

Startup Expectations

We want applicants to understand what working here is—and what it is not.

ZUUZ is not yet a large corporation with multiple departments, layers of management, and a written procedure for every situation. Some days will be highly structured; other days may involve solving a new problem, helping with a launch, reorganizing inventory, or handling a priority that changed quickly.

You may occasionally be asked to assist with reasonable tasks outside your normal routine. In return, you will have an opportunity to learn multiple parts of the business and help shape how the company operates.

This role is best for someone who enjoys ownership, variety, and building systems. It is probably not a fit for someone who needs every responsibility to remain narrow and unchanged.

Cannabis and Hemp Industry Disclosure

ZUUZ operates in the legal hemp and cannabis industry. This position may involve handling, storing, shipping, counting, or working near legal hemp- and cannabis-related products.

Applicants must be comfortable working in this industry and must be willing to follow all company policies and applicable laws regarding security, age restrictions, product handling, inventory, and confidentiality.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume and a brief response to the following questions:

  1. Why are you interested in working for a startup?
  2. Tell us about a process, workspace, or system you helped organize or improve.
  3. How do you make sure repetitive work remains accurate?
  4. Are you comfortable working in the legal hemp and cannabis industry?
  5. What would you do if Shopify showed 40 units in stock, but you counted only 28?

ZUUZ is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are based on qualifications, performance, and business needs, without unlawful discrimination.
