Job description

This position is responsible for performing installation, maintenance, and repairs on Fuji Seal equipment at customer sites across the U.S. This role includes troubleshooting technical equipment failures, providing top-notch customer service, and maintaining communication with both internal teams and external customers. Extensive travel is a key component of this role.

Specific Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Install, service, and repair SSL and PSL machinery at customer locations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical equipment failures via phone support and on-site visits.
  • Provide customer training on equipment operation.
  • Conduct testing and root cause analysis to ensure effective problem-solving.
  • Provide technical feedback to improve products.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and functional inspections.
  • Maintain service logs and internal records in accordance with American Fuji Technical Services policies.
  • Follow Health and Human Services, Environmental Health, and Safety requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical background with the ability to read blueprints and electrical documentation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to manage tasks and projects with minimal guidance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 80-100%, with flexibility for weekday and weekend travel.
  • Ability to train on-site for 3-6 months before traveling independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Rockwell & Siemens) and networking.
  • Familiarity with packaging equipment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or field service role.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in a related technical field (Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in field service, maintenance, or technical support.

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting, walking, climbing, and standing required.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds, along with pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching may be required.
  • Close visual activity required to operate machines and view documents.
  • Exposure to noise, physical hazards, and working in close quarters.

Travel Required:

  • Up to 75% travel, including overnight stays, to customer sites across the U.S.
