Job description

This is a Career Opportunity role with growth potential! FSM Group, LLC, an aviation fuel management company with multiple locations in the US, has an immediate need for multiple?Fuel Farm Operator positions for aircraft fueling at our new Ronald Reagan Washington National?airport operation.   • Receive, Store, Issue, and Transfer Aviation Jet Fuel in a safe and efficient manner, while carefully monitoring and recording all pertinent information.
  • Perform daily system inspections and required operator maintenance functions in accordance with ATA Spec. 103 and local operating procedures.
  • Review the daily pipeline receipt schedule and plan for sufficient tank ullage on next day allotments.
  • Complete and maintain appropriate documentation on operational matters in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform a variety of fuel Quality Tests and analysis, in accordance with ATA Spec. 103 and established procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of ATA Spec. 103, the FUEL Operations Manual and other posted Regulations associated with the fueling industry.
  • Complete all assignments directed by Management in a safe, efficient and timely manner as required by Company rules and regulations and all Federal, State and local laws.
  • Continually inspect operations for unusual circumstances at the fuel tank facility area such as: low/high pressure, leaks and unauthorized personnel, etc.
  • Work in other functional areas to cover absences and relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.
  • All work assignments be done accurately to avoid fuel spills or fuel facility related events.? Accurate work ethics are essential due to the nature of the assignment.
  • Aviation fuel systems and the mechanical functions associated with such fuel facility related equipment.
  • The ability to work overtime, meet attendance standards and adhere to all safety and performance standards are essential.
  • Inspect equipment
  • Inspect the hydrant system
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements Requirements: The minimum requirements are:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record
  • Pass a federal fingerprint background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Have proof of eligibility to work in the US
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
Additional Requirements:
  • Two years' experience on the following:
  • accepting petroleum products into all storage facilities in accordance with ATA 103 established procedures and quality controls;
  • quality control of fuel and facility inspections and integrity of fuel systems;
  • maintenance of fuel inventories, truck receipt logs and bill of ladings;
  • periodic and scheduled inspections;
  • assisting mechanics for scheduled and unscheduled repairs and maintenance;
  • working at truck racks and fuel storage tanks with the ability to climb/use safety equipment to the top of fuel tanks and truck racks;
  • maintenance and updating daily records, truck receiving logs and inspection forms.
  • Ability to proficiently use and read a measuring tape
  • Ability to proficiently use basic hand tools
  • Ability to proficiently use a computer
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures as well as take direction from leadership
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
Physical and Environmental Requirements: This position requires sustained physical effort and consistent exposure to outdoor and potentially hazardous work environments. The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.   • Must be able to climb up and down stairs and ladders with 50+ steps and work at heights of 50 feet or more, including high, precarious places.
  • Must be able to get in and out of vehicles of varying sizes and heights.
  • Must be able to drive and operate vehicles and equipment of various sizes, including automated lifts up to 26 feet.

  • Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds overhead.

  • Capable of climbing and standing on step ladders while performing overhead work, such as connecting fueling hoses.

  • Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grip, and operate tools, equipment, and controls.
