SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Fuel General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the airport's fuel operations, including storage, distribution, and quality control. This senior role involves strategic planning and management to ensure efficient and safe fueling services, compliance with environmental and safety regulations, and coordination with airlines, regulatory agencies, and airport authorities. You will lead a team of professionals, setting objectives, managing budgets, and implementing policies and procedures to optimize fuel operations. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service, addressing any operational challenges, and staying informed about industry trends and technological advancements in aviation fuel management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee all aspects of the airport's fuel operations, including storage, distribution, and quality control
  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient and safe fuel management
  • Manage relationships with fuel suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring steady supply
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental standards in fuel handling and storage
  • Lead and direct a team of fuel professionals, including training and performance evaluations
  • Coordinate with airport authorities, airlines, and ground services for seamless fuel operations
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of fuel farm facilities and equipment
  • Implement and manage robust safety and emergency response procedures
  • Monitor fuel market trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly
  • Prepare and manage the fuel department budget, optimizing costs and resources
  • Innovate and implement new technologies and processes to enhance fuel efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • 5 years of experience in aviation fuel management, including supervisory roles
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance related to aviation fuel
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage teams and complex projects
  • Proficiency in budgeting, strategic planning, and operations management
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders and partners
  • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
