What is an FSQ manager?

An FSQ Manager, or Food Safety and Quality Manager, is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety and quality of food products within a company. They develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality management systems, such as HACCP and GMP, to comply with regulatory standards. Their duties often include conducting audits, training staff, investigating quality issues, and liaising with regulatory bodies. FSQ Managers play a critical role in preventing contamination and ensuring products meet both legal requirements and customer expectations.

To thrive as an FSQ Manager, you need expertise in food safety standards, quality assurance practices, and regulatory compliance, typically backed by a degree in food science or a related field. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help ensure team alignment and swift issue resolution. These competencies are vital for maintaining product safety, regulatory compliance, and consumer trust in food manufacturing environments.
