Job description

Job Objective:

Under the direction of the Grocery Manager is responsible for ordering, stocking, rotating, displaying dairy and frozen food products, ensuring product freshness, maintaining sales shelf cleanliness, and maintaining an organized sales floor backroom storage freezer and cooler.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Organizational Responsibilities

1. Assist in the implementation of "CORE" customer service in line with The Market @ 25th’s Culture of Engagement.

2. Assist in the promotion of quality of service among team members by acting as a positive role model.

3. Assist in executing "seamless customer service" by making every effort to execute continuous attention to customer needs.

Operations

1. Ensures cleanliness of frozen and dairy cases, storage area, and work area for safety; includes cleaning of shelves and products, keeping floors free of liquid spills or water, removing hazardous debris from floor and sweeping.

2. Stocks dairy and frozen cases; includes presentation of product, facing, filling, and organization of all product items as set by the Grocery Department schematics as well as ensuring tag and pricing accuracy.

3. Examines the rotation of all dairy and frozen products paying particular attention to expired stock and discarding outdated or spoiled items.

4. Receives, inspects, and logs products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.

5. Monitors the point of purchase signs; ensures a variety of recipe cards, product coupons, promotional material, and information on complimentary foods.

6. Participates in pre-inventory preparation; includes back stock and assuring tags match products.

7. Ensure that all featured and bonus buys are attractively signed to attract customer attention and stimulate sales.

8. Check and maintain temperature levels within coolers and display case on a regular basis and maintain temperature logs.

9. Build visually attractive endcap and bunker displays, rotate and replenish stock as needed, and maintain accurate department signage and pricing.

10. Operate relevant equipment in a safe and productive manner.

11. Accurately record markups and markdowns, in-store use of merchandise, and bad merchandise/spoilage write-offs in accordance with company policies.

12. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by practicing high standards of food and human safety and sanitation techniques provided by The Market @ 25th.

13. Trains, coaches and develops dairy/frozen team members.

14. Serves as a safety ambassador on the safety team.
