ABOUT THIS ROLE

Wawona Frozen Foods is seeking a National Sales Account Manager to help grow our frozen fruit business. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this role is responsible for managing and expanding distributor and operator relationships, driving new product placements, and supporting profitable growth across all channels nationwide including Industrial, Food service, Retail, K12, Colleges, Universities, Hospitality, etc.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of sales and distribution, experience working with broadline distributors and operator accounts, and a passion for building long-term customer partnerships. This role works cross-functionally with Marketing, Innovation, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure successful execution of customer programs.


WHAT YOU'LL DOAccount Management & Sales Execution
  • Manage distributor and operator accounts to drive volume growth and profitability.
  • Support and execute sales strategies across broadline distributors and redistributors.
  • Secure new product placements and expand menu and distribution penetration at existing accounts.
  • Track, analyze, and report sales performance against targets, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in managing pricing, promotions, and trade spend in alignment with margin goals.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributor partners, operators, and key decision-makers.
  • Proactively identify customer needs and opportunities through regular communication and account reviews.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customer inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and participate in customer meetings and business reviews as needed.
Business Development & Insights
  • Identify and help develop new business opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and operator strategies to support growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align customer needs with product innovation and operational capabilities.
Broker & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Support external broker partners by sharing account priorities, product knowledge, and execution expectations.
  • Work closely with internal teams including Innovation, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure service excellence.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOREducation & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of foodservice sales or account management experience preferred.
  • Experience working with distributors, brokers, and/or operator accounts.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of foodservice distribution and operator purchasing dynamics.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and trends.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM or sales reporting tools.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 40–50% as needed.
  • Experience with frozen, value-added, or ingredient food products strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS

This role operates primarily in a standard office environment with regular travel to customer locations, distributor meetings, and occasional visits to production facilities. The position requires frequent use of a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.

Physical requirements may include lifting up to 20–40 pounds, walking through plant and kitchen environments, and extended periods of sitting or standing. When in production areas, compliance with GMP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF requirements is mandatory. Slip-resistant footwear and adherence to hygiene and dress standards are required.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Compensation: Competitive salary of $150,000-175,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Applicants must be fully authorized to work in the U.S. and physically located in the U.S.
