What is Frontier Management?

Frontier management refers to the practice of overseeing and guiding organizations or projects operating in emerging, high-growth, or challenging markets—often called 'frontier markets.' These are regions or sectors with high potential but also higher risks due to less-developed infrastructures, regulatory environments, or market volatility. Frontier management professionals help companies navigate these complexities, mitigate risks, and identify opportunities for sustainable growth. Their expertise is valuable in industries such as finance, consulting, or international development where entering new or unstable markets is common.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Frontier Management?

To excel in Frontier Management, you need strong business acumen, strategic planning, and financial analysis skills, often backed by a degree in business, management, or a related field. Familiarity with management information systems (MIS), financial modeling tools, and relevant certifications such as PMP or MBA can be highly advantageous. Leadership, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for driving organizational growth and navigating complex challenges. These competencies enable managers to make informed decisions, adapt to dynamic markets, and achieve sustainable business success.

What are the typical challenges faced by professionals in Frontier Management roles and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in frontier management roles often encounter challenges such as navigating regulatory uncertainties, building teams in new markets, and establishing efficient operational processes in untested environments. Overcoming these obstacles usually involves conducting thorough market research, fostering strong cross-functional collaboration, and maintaining flexibility to adapt strategies as conditions evolve. Many frontier managers also benefit from building local partnerships and leveraging mentorship from experienced colleagues to guide decision-making in unfamiliar territories.

Why Apply to New Frontier Immigration Law
Join the New Frontier Immigration Law team and help change the lives of 1 million undocumented immigrants in the USA. Our mid-sized law firm in Phoenix, AZ is committed to humanitarian-based immigration and finding innovative solutions for seemingly impossible problems.
Are you ready to join one of the fastest-growing law firms in the US, where incredible opportunities await? Here, we don't just offer a job: we provide an environment that challenges you to become the best version of yourself.

  • Learn more about our CEO/Founder Hillary here.
  • Learn more about our Core Values here.

Role Objective
New Frontier Immigration Law is a dynamic immigration law firm seeking an Events & Client Experience Coordinator to run point on events, content, and day-to-day support around them.
This is a hands-on, in-office role at our Glendale location. It combines event planning and production, light content and design work, and on-site support for the Founder around events and client touchpoints. It requires occasional evening and weekend hours for events, including a handful of Saturdays throughout the year.
Responsibilities/Duties
Events (the big stuff)
  • Plan and coordinate our webinars and in-person information sessions for existing clients - from guest list to Monday.com board to make sure the whole team is briefed and ready
  • Handle setup and teardown for our in-person events - tables, chairs, room-ready before and after (the on-site, hands-on work our remote team can't do)
  • Lead planning for our annual Posada and Mother's Day events - 300+ guests each, full production

Content Design
  • Capture daily photo and video content for use across the firm's social media channels (pass to editing team)
  • Design invitations, posters, brochures, and event graphics
  • Coordinate seasonal office decor and an outside photographer for holiday and event photography

Community Outreach & Client Experience
  • Build relationships with local partners to host community education events for clients, such as computer literacy classes
  • Look for ways to make routine client moments feel personal and memorable

Onsite Support
  • Provide hands-on support around events and client-facing moments, helping the team stay on schedule and prepared (calendar management is handled separately by the firm's EA)
  • General direct, personal support of Founder during event days and busy days

Requirements
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), fluent - you'll work with clients and vendors in both languages
  • Experienced in event planning, with working knowledge of design tools and basic video/photo capture
  • Highly organized, comfortable managing multiple moving pieces and deadlines
  • Outgoing and comfortable representing the firm in front of large groups
  • Able to reliably work on-site at our Glendale office, with availability for occasional evenings and Saturdays

Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting hourly rate of $26.00
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Comprehensive health insurance package
  • 401(k) with company match
