POSITION SUMMARY:
The Front-End Manager oversees daily Front-End Operations and provides leadership and direction to achieve profitable operations of all Front-End related service in the company. The Front-End Manager ensures that all programs offered through the Front-End are executed consistently in the store. The Front-End Manager is responsible for development of all direct reports. The Front-End Manager is to continually grow the team's capacity for efficiency, effectiveness, and service to meet the company's succession needs. The individual is expected to be a role model of the company by driving results while maintaining company core values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Greets and interacts with customers to address questions or concerns in a friendly and service- oriented manner;
* Clearly communicates and enforces standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, Front End conditions and food safety to all team members;
* Ensures that all goals on the Front End are met with regard to the Bottom of the Basket;
* Responsible for implementing operational best practices for the Front End functions;
* Coordinates store training for Cashier training & policies to include WIC, Checks, Liquor, and Tobacco;
* Ensures that all cashiers reach the IPM assigned goal;
* Store cash handling;
* Responsible for opening/closing of the accounting books;
* Controls store cash shorts & overs;
* Responsible for and oversees the Self-Checkout operation (for the SCO stores);
* Performs voids, refunds, transaction cancellation and instruction for saved recall transactions;
* Ensures WIC Compliance and trainings in store;
* Writes Cashier/Courtesy Clerks daily schedule;
* Responsible for Front End Over Time reduction and controls;
* Provides Security Awareness training for all Front End Team Members;
* Improves cashier turnover and keeps turnover at company goals;
* Embraces positive employee relations through consistent and fair application of company policies and leadership values;
* All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
* 3+ years' experience in a progressive operations role;
* Customer Service experience desirable;
* Proven experience in dealing effectively with diverse team member/management issues. Possess the ability to effectively coach direct reports.
