Summary:

The Shipping/Floater Loader Operator is responsible for loading outgoing material and unloading incoming materials as assigned. The work often involves picking and staging products for orders. They typically use motorized equipment such as a front-end loader to move material to and from storage or production areas and trucks. Loader operators are also responsible for processing shipping and receiving paperwork.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in mandatory stretching exercise program
  • Receive direction and work orders from the Operations Manager and Shift Lead
  • Transport stone continuously to production areas for efficient production output
  • Follow all safety regulations
  • Verify the accuracy of quantity of material
  • Make sure packaging is secure and intact, labeled properly and if needed, re-label or wrap items
  • Load/unload trucks for outside contractors, customers, and transfer trucks (occasionally live loading required)
  • Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting daily inspection
  • Ensure product meets quality standards
  • Process required paperwork
  • Maintain an organized and neat work area
  • Setup and stage orders for shipping
  • Finished product placed in the proper designated areas
  • Weigh and band finished product
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Certification in loader and forklift operation a plus- Can provide on site!
  • Knowledge of operating heavy equipment or forklift experience
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be proactive, and able to work with others
  • Data entry, math, and computer skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to lift objects weighing between 50-100 pounds
