Job description

As a Sr. Full Stack Engineer, you will use your knowledge of programming, operating systems, and supporting application systems to design and implement business systems. In this role, you will work at any level of the stack, support all applications at FCP Euro, and act as a role model of professional decorum with strong communication skills.
You will work directly with stakeholders on the scope of requirements, contribute positively to the growth of our company, and mentor junior team members. The ideal candidate has applied computer science foundations, demonstrates a strong idiomatic approach to software design patterns, and regularly presents eloquent, performant code.

  • Translate business specifications into fast, maintainable, and exception-resilient web applications.
  • Proactively build features with robust test coverage and identify/fill lapses in existing feature coverage.
  • Proactively prevent technical debt by identifying, recording, and documenting issues while designing with a scalable mindset.
  • Work directly with stakeholders issuing improvements for the organization's app portfolio
  • Possess strong frontend orientation including templating, style and interactive scripting skills
  • Work alongside colleagues to translate business specifications into fast, maintainable and exception-resilient web applications
  • Estimating, prioritizing, planning and executing work within a Jira workflow
  • Identify, record, and document bugs
  • Proactively build features with test coverage, identify and fill lapses in existing feature coverage
  • Be aware of modern Rails patterns (and more importantly anti-patterns) when performing periodic audits
  • Proactively seek technical self-development and bring extractions back to the team

Experience and Skill Requirements
  • Proven work experience in software development demonstrating solid software design patterns and eloquent code.
  • Ruby on Rails development expertise.
  • Competency in additional languages, including JavaScript.
  • Experience writing automated specs (RSpec BDD experience).
  • Ability to provide examples demonstrating your application of Computer Science foundations.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and work directly with business stakeholders.
  • A positive attitude, growth mindset, and excellent communication skills.

Compensation:
This is an exempt role with a base salary of $120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience, with a total compensation opportunity of $131,500 to $164,200 annually.
