Job description

Front of House Hourly Supervisor

Parker Johnโ€™s BBQ & Pizza is looking for a high-energy, hospitality-driven leader to join our team as a Front of House Hourly Supervisor.

This is not your average restaurant supervisor position.

Our Hourly Supervisors have a unique and vital role within Parker Johnโ€™s. They work alongside the team in hourly positions such as serving, bartending, and catering while also stepping into the role of Manager on Duty during scheduled supervisor shifts.

The right person for this position leads by example, takes ownership of the restaurant around them, and understands that leadership starts with consistently doing things the right way.

We also want our Front of House Hourly Supervisors to be financially successful in the role. As part of that commitment, supervisors receive priority scheduling for Full-Service and Drop-Off Catering opportunities. These events include automatic gratuity, giving supervisors additional opportunities to significantly increase their overall earnings while taking on greater responsibility within the restaurant.

Who We Are

Parker Johnโ€™s BBQ & Pizza isnโ€™t your average restaurant. Weโ€™re a locally owned, high-energy brand built on authentic hickory-smoked BBQ, scratch-made food, and genuine hospitality.

Our goal is simple: provide an experience that exceeds our guests' expectations.

We donโ€™t just serve food. We create moments, build relationships, and turn first-time guests into lifelong regulars.

A Preview Into Parker Johnโ€™s

At Parker Johnโ€™s, thereโ€™s always something happening.

From our All-You-Can-Eat Nights featuring wings, ribs, and our famous Friday fish fry, to our All-Day Happy Hour Sunday through Thursday, we give guests a reason to come back again and again.

Our menu is built around made-from-scratch food and authentic hickory-smoked meats, creating bold flavors and a product our team can truly stand behind.

As an Hourly Supervisor, youโ€™ll help make sure the Parker Johnโ€™s experience is delivered consistently, no matter how busy the restaurant gets.

What Makes This Role Different

Hourly Supervisors at Parker Johnโ€™s have two important responsibilities:

Be an Example Setter.

When working as a server, bartender, or catering lead, our supervisors are expected to be some of the strongest performers in the building.

Every standard and every Step of Service should be executed with excellence. Shortcuts cannot become part of the routine, and playing by the Parker Johnโ€™s playbook is always expected.

When scheduled as the acting Floor Manager, the role changes.

During these shifts, the Hourly Supervisor assumes the responsibilities of the Manager on Duty, and the success of the shift becomes their responsibility.

That means leading the team, managing the guest experience, maintaining restaurant standards, solving problems, coaching team members, and keeping the operation moving.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay Rates Vary depending on the specific position the Supervisor is Working. Yearly wage estimate on this job listing is based on full time status, 30-40 hours per week.
    • Supervising: $18 / hour
    • Serving: $6 / hour plus Tips
    • Bartending: $10 / hour
    • Catering $8-$10 / hour
  • Weekly pay with paychecks every Friday
  • Combination of Hourly Supervisor and tipped FOH shifts
  • Opportunities to earn tips while serving, bartending and catering
  • Open availability is required
  • Must be available for a combination of days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Schedule will include both Floor Manager shifts and hourly FOH shifts

  • Employee meal discounts
  • Leadership development and management training
  • Opportunities for advancement into Assistant General Manager and General Manager positions
  • A stable, locally owned and growing restaurant company

What We're Looking For

This position is designed for someone who naturally takes ownership.

You donโ€™t wait for someone else to fix the problem. You see what needs to happen and help make it happen.

Youโ€™ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Lead by example
  • Take pride in doing things the right way
  • Are comfortable giving direction and holding others accountable
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Remain calm and professional under pressure

  • Supporting proper labor management throughout the shift
  • Completing opening, closing, and shift management responsibilities
  • Communicating important shift information to the restaurant management team
  • Handling guest concerns professionally and finding appropriate resolutions
  • Taking ownership of the overall success of the shift

When Serving or Bartending

Our Hourly Supervisors are expected to:

  • Consistently demonstrate Parker Johnโ€™s Steps of Service
  • Deliver outstanding hospitality
  • Follow all restaurant procedures and standards
  • Demonstrate strong menu and beverage knowledge
  • Maintain urgency and organization
  • Support teammates without needing to be asked
  • Model the attitude and work ethic expected from the rest of the team
  • Accept coaching and feedback just as they expect other team members to do

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must have open availability
  • Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Previous restaurant experience strongly preferred
  • Previous serving and/or bartending experience preferred
  • Previous leadership, shift lead, or supervisory experience is a plus
  • Must be comfortable making decisions and providing direction to team members
  • Must be dependable and demonstrate consistent attendance
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment

Why Parker Johnโ€™s?

We aren't looking for someone who simply wants a supervisor title. We're looking for someone who wants to become a leader.

Someone who takes pride in their restaurant, cares about their team, understands the importance of the guest experience, and isn't afraid to take ownership when something needs attention.

For the right person, the Hourly Supervisor position can also be the beginning of a much larger career with Parker Johnโ€™s.

As our company continues to grow, we want our future Assistant General Managers and General Managers to come from leaders who have already demonstrated that they can take care of their guests, support their team, and successfully lead a restaurant.

If you're ready to lead from the front, set the example, and help create an outstanding experience for every guest who walks through our doors, we'd love to meet you.
