The Front of House (FOH) Supervisor oversees daily dining room operations, ensuring guests receive excellent service in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This role supervises servers, hosts, and bussers, and acts as a key liaison between FOH staff and management.

Requirements

  Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate FOH staff during shifts, including servers, hosts/hostesses, bussers, and bartenders
  • Assign sections, breaks, and side work to ensure smooth service
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve complaints promptly and professionally
  • Train new FOH employees on service standards, POS systems, and company policies
  • Enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards in dining and service areas
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and table turnover during peak hours
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and opening procedures
  • Monitor cash handling, tips, and POS transactions for accuracy
  • Collaborate with kitchen management to ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment
  • Run Expo and allergies maintaining compliance and standards. 
  • Maintain compliance with alcohol service laws and company policies
  • Conduct closing procedures and ensure the restaurant is clean and all side work has been completed.
  • Ensure dining areas, restrooms, and common areas meet cleanliness standards

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality management education a plus
  • 2+ years of restaurant experience, including 1+ year in a supervisory role
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Working knowledge of POS systems and reservation software
  • Serv Safe and alcohol service certification (as required by local law)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Working Conditions

  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and      repetitive hand and wrist motion.
  • Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operating phones and computers.
