Job description

Job Title: Front Desk

Department: Front Desk

Reports to: Front Desk Manager

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors and help patients and guests feel comfortable when waiting to be attended to

  • Track patients in the reception area and communicate with them, as needed.

  • General administrative and computer work

  • Collect or update patient information including demographics and insurance information; collect completed patient forms and payments

  • Enters all new patient demographic information into the computer.

  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments as necessary.

  • Update patient recalls as necessary.

  • Total daily charges; add to any balance; give receipt; post payments in computer

  • Reconciles cash receipts daily; prepares daily report

  • Checks-out all patients; ensure patients understand their condition and treatment; provide any special instructions to patients upon leaving; provide clarification of the doctor’s instructions.
