Job description

Join Our Team

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated IM or FM Hospitalist to join an established, clinician-led day team within the Ascension Milwaukee Hospitals network.

Collaborative Day Team: Join a robust daytime cohort of seven rounders, supported by a dedicated overnight duo, ensuring a manageable daily encounter goal of 16–18 patients and a strong peer-to-peer partnership.

Lead Comprehensive Rounding: Evaluate and treat a diverse patient panel with precision, acting as the primary attending physician to drive high-quality medical outcomes and steady recoveries.

Mentor the Next Generation: Drive academic excellence by teaching and mentoring residents during every shift, fostering an environment of continuous learning and clinical leadership.

Focus on Medical Management: Benefit from a closed ICU model where dedicated Intensivists lead all codes and procedures, allowing you to focus your expertise entirely on complex medical rounding and diagnostic accuracy.

Champion Quality & Efficiency: Partner with the medical staff to improve cost-effectiveness and patient safety, earning eligibility for a 2.5% annual quality metric bonus and seniority rewards.

Document the Patient Journey: Capture the clinical story through accurate documentation, ensuring seamless communication across the 300-bed facility and the broader integrated network.

About the Facility

Ascension Milwaukee Hospitals represent the heart of our Wisconsin network, featuring seven hospitals with an average size of 250–300 beds. This 300-bed facility is a hub for renowned service lines, including cardiology, oncology, and neuroscience. As a teaching site, we combine high-acuity clinical exposure with a supportive, mission-driven environment that prioritizes personalized care for all, especially those most vulnerable in the Milwaukee community.

Why Physicians Choose Milwaukee

Ideally located on the shores of Lake Michigan just 90 miles north of Chicago, Milwaukee is a "Gamma Global City" that offers big-city amenities with small-town convenience.

Professional Sports & Culture: Home to the Bucks, Brewers, and Packers, alongside the world-class Milwaukee Art Museum and the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.

Outdoor & Family Life: Enjoy boating and sailing on Lake Michigan, an extensive county park system, and a top-tier zoo.

Festivals & Food: Experience Summerfest—the world's largest music festival—and a diverse culinary scene that satisfies every palate.

Quality of Life: A culturally diverse, family-oriented community with a high quality of life and a wide range of residential options.

Why Physicians Choose Ascension

Clinician-Led Culture: Join one of the largest nonprofit provider networks in the U.S., where your engagement is recognized as a key driver of excellent care.

Mission-Centered: Rooted in a deep commitment to service and compassionate, personalized healthcare.
