About us Ellie Mental Health - Raleigh is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Raleigh, NC clinic and support the growth of medication management services for outpatient clients. This provider will conduct psychiatric evaluations, prescribe and manage medications, and work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, high-quality behavioral health care. The ideal candidate is licensed in North Carolina, brings outpatient psychiatry experience, and is energized by the opportunity to expand access to mental health services in a collaborative clinic environment. Position summary

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and supportive care for a diverse outpatient population that may include adolescents, adults, and older adults. This role is intended to help launch or expand Ellie Mental Health - Raleigh’s medication management service line within the Raleigh-Durham market.

Key responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management visits for outpatient clients.

Diagnose behavioral health conditions and develop evidence-based treatment plans that align with outpatient standards of care.

Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications as clinically appropriate within North Carolina scope-of-practice requirements.

Provide supportive care and collaborate with therapists, administrative staff, referral partners, and other care team members to ensure continuity of care.

Complete documentation accurately and on time in the electronic health record system and follow clinic workflows, compliance requirements, and quality standards.

Participate in team meetings, case consultation, and service development efforts related to psychiatry and medication management.

Required qualifications

Active and unrestricted North Carolina license as a Nurse Practitioner with authority to practice in psychiatric-mental health care.

Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) strongly preferred or required.

DEA registration and prescriptive authority consistent with state and federal requirements.

Experience conducting psychiatric assessments and providing medication management in an outpatient mental health setting.

Strong documentation, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Ability to work with diverse populations across the lifespan, including adolescents and adults.

Ability to pass background screening and meet credentialing requirements.

Preferred qualifications

Two or more years of experience in psychiatric or mental health practice is preferred.

Prior experience helping establish or grow a psychiatry or medication management program is preferred.

Comfort with telehealth and office-based care delivery.

Familiarity with Office 365 and behavioral health EHR platforms such as Valant is a plus.
