What We Look For In a College English Tutor
- Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of college composition, rhetorical analysis, research writing, argumentation, literary analysis, critical reading, MLA and APA citation formats, and academic discourse conventions. Adapts instruction using model academic essays, peer review workshops, and individualized feedback to support college students from developmental writing through advanced composition courses.
- Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
