Job description

Responsible for providing and maintaining effective customer service and satisfaction; provide information to resolve customer shipment related issues; interact with management and personnel to establish service criteria and meet customer requirements.
Remote Position / Work-from-Home Requirement: This is a remote position. The employee must maintain a dedicated, professional workspace at home, including a proper desk or workstation, reliable internet access, and a quiet environment free from regular interruptions during scheduled working hours. The employee must be able to protect confidential client and shipment information while working remotely.
Responsibilities:
  • Processing Customs brokerage for land, rail, air and ocean shipments
  • Process or Coordinate e-manifest for land imports
  • Work Closely with management on all topics related to customer service and participate in client meetings as necessary
  • Data entry and processing of various import related documentation for submission to U.S. Customs and PGA’s (participating Government Agencies)
  • Follow up on Customs amp; OGA matters and resolve problems
  • Answer both customer inquiries and inter-company inquiries
  • Handle remote filings
  • Classify goods in the harmonized tariff schedule (broad range of commodities)
  • Coordinate shipments with cross border carriers and Mexican Customs Brokers
  • Execute procedures as outlined on SOP’s (client facing amp; internal)
  • Provide shipment tracking updates to IOR every 2.5hrs
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Customs Brokerage for land, rail, air and ocean shipments
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Cargo Wise experience is required.
  • Customs Brokerage license is a plus
  • Must be a team player
