Job description

Industrial Automation and Process Optimization Engineer Is this you?
  • Do you enjoy taking a new product from concept to stable, efficient, high-volume production?
  • Can you translate process flows into right-sized equipment, labor models, and error-proofed work instructions?
  • Are you equally comfortable debugging PLC logic on the floor and leading a cross-functional launch review?
What you will do
  • Design end-to-end manufacturing systems for new introductions: process flow, equipment selection, and labor modeling
  • Develop standardized work, assembly methods, and robust error-proofing
  • Create Lean-oriented plant and line layouts
  • Own manufacturing readiness and program launch execution
  • Coordinate installation, moves, and capability/validation of production equipment
  • Lead capital projects and facility improvements
  • Define scope, review technical specifications, and conduct vendor equipment validations prior to shipment
  • Apply 8D and root cause analysis to resolve production problems
  • Continuously elevate throughput, first-pass yield, and labor efficiency
  • Administer Engineering Change and orchestrate cross-functional rollout
  • Embed AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) into your workflows
  • Support maintenance planning and drive equipment reliability; step in to lead/coordinated maintenance efforts when required
  • Travel to customer/supplier locations for launches, audits, and validations
  • Mentor junior engineers and set standards for safe system design
What you bring Required
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience in a manufacturing/assembly engineering setting
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems, equipment, and production processes
  • AutoCAD proficiency and familiarity with standard engineering tools
  • Working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting capability
  • Supplier/vendor/contractor management experience
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated leadership
Preferred
  • 3โ€“5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Background in automotive or other high-volume assembly
  • Experience with robotics, automation, or controls
  • Maintenance planning or team leadership
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma toolkit
  • Capital equipment projects or installations
Compensation
  • $85,000 to $100,000+/year - based on experience

Candidates with significant manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.

Core tools and technologies you will use
