Job description

Louis County Government is a qualified agency for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program managed by the Federal Government. For more information regarding this program, please visit Public Service Loan Forgiveness | Federal Student Aid Examples of Duties Essential Function Examples Coordinate the implementation of standards and policies in accordance with PREA and applicable federal mandates. Develop reporting programs on the incidence of prison rape to improve the management and administration of correctional facilities.

Establish PREA training curriculum for Justice Service's staff, volunteers, contract employees and inmates. Serve as department representative on PREA related issues for internal and external organizations. The IA investigator must have a good understanding of the rules, regulations, and policies governing the various divisions and sections of the Department.

This position conducts on-site investigations that are confidential, complex, sensitive, and high profile. This requires the gathering of initial documents and facts related to investigations, identifying, and pursuing investigative leads in a timely manner. The IA investigator must be able to identify potential witnesses, schedule interviews, establish rapport with witnesses and subject employees, examine records, interview staff, residents, and officials, and prepare an internal investigative report.

The IA investigator has a great deal of contact with the public and the law enforcement community, and to access the need for outside law enforcement involvement and make necessary contact and requests. This position accurately interprets, communicates, and explains relevant agency policies and procedures. The IA investigator must be able to apply analysis and judgement in investigating allegations of unacceptable personal conduct through careful consideration of the situation, defining the problem objectively and offering .

investigative findings. The IA investigator must be able to keep detailed and organized records and accurately prepare and complete a comprehensive investigative report of their work and findings in accordance with IA policy and procedure. Handling of case evidence is required and consistent with policy and procedures and completes assigned investigations within established deadlines.

Writing investigative reports to effectively communicate the results of investigations to appropriate parties. Create and promote an equitable workplace that demonstrates an environment respectful of living and working in a multicultural society. Conducting employee and volunteer background checks utilizing Criminal Justice Information System.

The Integrity Unit Assistant will assist Integrity Unit Manager in completing suspension and termination letters for the Department of Justice Services with cooperation from the County Counselor's office. The legal team will advise if the requested discipline is supported by legal means and able to be defended if challenged. Marginal Function Examples Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Equivalent to an Associate's Degree and three years of related experience. Additional Information ELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available. The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above.

The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire.

Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire. The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision. All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.

Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
