Job description

Now hiring 1st Shift Monday - Friday 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Primary Function: Set up, operate, or tend machines to fill, seal and label finished products. Change over equipment, run required bottle sizes and ensure through-put and quality to meet customer specifications.
Responsibilities and Duties: This information is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. Team member may perform other duties as assigned.
General responsibilities:

  • Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to customer standards.
  • Adjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product.
  • Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor
  • Secure finished packaged items by taping
  • Stock and sort product for packaging or filling machine operation, and replenish packaging supplies, such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, ink, or labels
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work environment adhering to all food safety and industrial safety standards
  • Verify correct packaging components finished products to meet customer specifications
  • Observes personal hygiene required of the food service industry
  • Cleans all equipment as soon as practically possible
  • Keeps equipment in its designated space
  • Cleans mixing room including floors, doors, and pipes
  • Stock and Prepare Packaging needed for Finished Products
  • Record the lot number of packaging on the lot tracking log
  • Remove finished product from product line
  • Package and prepare finished product for order picking
Level of Supervision or responsibility:
None.
Qualifications:
  • Must demonstrate good visual acuity to distinguish between details and colors.
  • Demonstrate good organization skills to collect and assemble ingredients, coordinate timetables and schedule work assignments with co-workers. Will also need to organize and maintain product files.
  • Must be able to give and receive accurate verbal instructions to follow directions on production lists, mixing sheets, color cards and product labels.
  • Written communications to make entries on production lists, mixing sheets and ink worksheets.
  • Accurate computation skills to measure ingredients using scales. Will be required to calculate ingredient amounts and estimate quantities as needed.
  • Good problem-solving skills to determine appropriate action for resolution.
  • Able to work with a team
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stoop, pull, push twist, bend and reach.
  • Must also be able to maintain balance when lifting and demonstrate manual dexterity when making adjustments to machines.

All full time employees working an average of thirty (30) hours or more will be eligible to enroll in a comprehensive benefit package.
