Senior HIM Coder

Perform varied and complex diagnostic and procedural coding for accurate DRG, severity of illness, and risk of mortality assignment.

Preferred Criteria

  • CCS or CCS-P or CPC or ART/RHIT

Required Criteria

  • 3-5 years medical record experience, preferably in an acute care, computerized environment; 2-3 years demonstrated coding experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-10CM, CPT4, HCPCS, and applicable DRG grouper coding schemes

  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with clinical information systems for accessing health information in an electronic environment

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to distinguish colors to identify medical numbers
