Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver FPS-approved training courses in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct classroom, hands-on, and scenario-based training for FPS personnel.
  • Ensure all training activities comply with DHS and FPS requirements.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate training records, reports, and documentation.
  • Support mission readiness initiatives through professional instruction and coaching.
  • Stay current on applicable regulations, policies, and training methodologies.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Firearms Instructor Certification from one of the following:
    • NRA Firearms Instructor
    • Virginia DCJS Firearms Instructor
    • Maryland Firearms Instructor
    • SOMB Firearms Instructor
  • Demonstrated experience delivering firearms and/or security-related training.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to conduct both classroom and practical exercises effectively.
  • Knowledge of DHS, FPS, and security training standards.

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a medical exam and drug screening
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends
