Medical Scheduler

Position: Medical Scheduler

Location: Norwood Office

Department: Central Scheduling

Schedule: 8:30am-5pm, Hybrid work-from-home option post-training, Monday through Friday, No Weekends and No Holidays

Responsibilities:

As a Medical Scheduler at Riverhills Neuroscience, you will play a crucial role in patient services, contributing to our goal of providing a top notch patient experience. Your responsibilities include:

  • Schedule appointments for patient visits for all the physicians according to each individual physician's protocol.
  • Review, process and return all scheduling requests in a timely manner.
  • Cancel and reschedule appointments as needed to accommodate the physician's schedule.
  • Accommodate requests from the physician/clinical staff to schedule appointments for emergency cases.
  • Obtain and verify personal, demographic, and financial information for each patient and enter all necessary information into the practice management system.
  • Communicate to patient their financial obligations and/or refer patient to the billing business office.
  • Confirm patient appointments and manage appointment recall.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Background and Experience:

  • One (1) year of prior health care scheduling experience is preferred
  • Must be able to work 8:30am-5pm
  • Experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and practice management system is preferred
  • Effective communication and professional demeanor, including sound judgment, maturity, and rapport-building with patients, public, and staff
  • Capacity to handle severely ill patients and manage sensitive, confidential information according to policy
  • Calm multitasking abilities and tactful, diplomatic interactions with patients and staff, demonstrating good interpersonal skills.
