Job description

Professional Engineer (P.E.) - Broadband Infrastructure
Location: Hybrid (Based out of our Seneca, MO or Nyssa, OR offices)
Position Type: Full-Time
About Rally Networks
At Rally Networks, we deliver fast, reliable fiber-optic internet with small-town values. Unlike large national corporations, we are deeply rooted in the communities we serve. We believe in building strong, lasting connections-both online and off-by expanding high-performance infrastructure to rural and underserved areas.
Right now, we are embarking on our biggest expansions yet. Backed by federal grant programs like USDA ReConnect and BEAD, we are building extensive next-generation fiber networks to future-proof rural communities. To make it happen, we need a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) who loves hands-on OSP design and wants to see their blueprints bring life-changing connectivity to real people.
The Opportunity: Cradle to Grave Ownership
This isn't a corporate desk job where you just pass files back and forth with external consultants. We are looking for a licensed P.E. who wants true, full-lifecycle ownership. You will be the lead hands-on architect for our outside plant networks, taking projects all the way from initial GIS mapping through construction to federal closeout.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that every mile of cable we place is built to the highest standards, completely compliant with Rural Utilities Service (RUS) requirements, and engineered to last for decades.
What You'll Do Every Day
  • Hands-On OSP Design: Take the wheel on end-to-end network architecture. You will actively use GIS mapping, AutoCAD, and fiber design tools to engineer efficient aerial and buried rural fiber routes.
  • Uphold RUS Standards: Serve as our internal authority on Rural Utilities Service (RUS) compliance. You will ensure 100% adherence to RUS specifications across all engineering blueprints, material forecasting, and construction practices.
  • Lead Project Management: Drive our major grant portfolio from cradle to grave. This includes managing project schedules, overseeing budgets, forecasting material needs, and keeping field milestones on track.
  • Quality Assurance & Engineering Stamps: Establish rigorous design standards, review field data to troubleshoot geographic hurdles, and provide the professional engineering validation and stamps necessary for our deployments.
  • Collaborative Stewardship: Work cross-functionally with field technicians, construction crews, and leadership to keep large-scale builds moving seamlessly.

What You Bring to the Team
  • Credentials: You are a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in good standing (or have the ability to obtain reciprocity in our operating states).
  • OSP Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience in Outside Plant (OSP) engineering. You have a deep understanding of rural fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) architectures, pole loading, permitting, and buried/aerial construction methods.
  • RUS Knowledge: Solid familiarity with RUS engineering specifications and federal grant build compliance. You know how to design a network that stands up to a federal audit.
  • Tech-Savvy Designer: Advanced skills in GIS platforms (such as ArcGIS, IQGeo, or equivalent) and CAD software.
  • Community-Minded & Flexible: Comfortable in a hybrid work environment. You can design effectively from home but enjoy collaborating in person at our Seneca, MO or Nyssa, OR hubs, as well as heading out to active field sites when the project calls for it.

Why Rally with Us?
We offer the stability and long-term security of major, secured federal grant funding combined with the close-knit culture of a company that genuinely cares about its neighbors. If you want to use your P.E. license to build tangible infrastructure that leaves a legacy across rural America, we'd love to talk.
