From Home Meditech information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Meditech Remote (From Home) Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Meditech Remote Specialist, you need strong knowledge of healthcare workflows, Meditech EHR systems, and relevant clinical or IT experience, often supported by a degree in health information management, nursing, or computer science. Familiarity with Meditech modules, troubleshooting tools, remote access solutions, and possibly certifications like RHIA or Meditech-specific credentials is essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and self-motivation are critical soft skills for collaborating with on-site teams and resolving issues independently. These abilities are vital to ensure efficient system support, minimize downtime, and maintain high-quality patient care from a remote setting.

What are some common challenges faced by remote Meditech professionals, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Meditech professionals often encounter challenges such as troubleshooting technical issues without on-site support, maintaining effective communication with healthcare teams, and managing time across multiple projects or clients. To address these challenges, it's important to stay proactive in learning new Meditech updates, use secure communication tools for collaboration, and establish a structured daily routine. Regular virtual check-ins with colleagues and participation in online training sessions can also help ensure smooth workflows and ongoing professional development.

Job description

Id : 8519 Category : Physician Location/City : MA - Fall River Salary Range : 0.00 - 0.00 per year (USD Permanent) Job Type : Permanent Recruiter Email : 150-provider multispecialty group in Southeastern Massachusetts, is seeking to add a Nocturnist physician to our team. Position is full-time (14 shifts a month), but will consider part-time candidate. ICU skills are needed to run "codes" and "rapid responses", to intubate and start lines, and to manage ICU patients with the assistance of the eICU (electronic ICU) team, who follows ICU patients remotely overnight.

Most of the overnight duties involve the admission and management of Emergency Room patients on floors, the telemetry unit, and the ICU. There is no major trauma, and the Boston hospitals are resources for complex patients who require transfer for tertiary care. Our group has readily-available specialists to assist in patient management.

Night shifts are 12-hours (7am 7pm) and we would expect at least 14 shifts per month. Routine floor calls are taken from home by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from 10pm until 7am. Significant emphasis is placed on patient satisfaction and teamwork.

Our group is entirely physician-owned and managed. We use an app- and web-based charge-capture and billing system for our Hospitalists (IngeniousMed) to maximize efficiency and the Hospital uses Meditech, requiring Computer Physician Order Entry (CPOE) and real-time creation of notes. Southeastern Massachusetts is a lovely area of the country, surrounded by water of various sorts.

We are 20 minutes from Providence, Rhode Island, an hour from Boston, and 30 minutes from Cape Cod.
