Summary:
The Network Records Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining accurate and consistent network data across systems. This position ensures that all updates adhere to company standards and best practices, supporting daily design, restoration, and operational activities. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as this data drives multiple downstream systems and tools used across the organization.
Roles and Responsibilities:
·Interpret design plans and construction drawings to extract relevant data, adjust cable routes, slack, splice locations, and update systems accordingly.
·Analyze and update database records while assessing downstream impacts of all modifications.
·Resolve help desk tickets by investigating issues, making informed changes, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure accuracy.
·Coordinate with external Dig-Safe agencies to resolve inquiries, verify information, and maintain compliance with state systems.
Top Skills & Technical Expertise
·Required: QGIS or Fiber experience, Adobe (daily use), KMZ file experience
·Preferred: Microsoft Visio experience
Education & Certifications
·Required: High school diploma or equivalent
·Preferred: Associate degree or equivalent professional experience
Experience Requirements
·1–3 years of experience in the telecommunications field with database input and maintenance responsibilities.
Technical & Professional Skills
·Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Visio, and GIS mapping tools (MapInfo, OSPI, QGIS, etc.)
·Strong analytical and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines
·Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable interacting across teams
·Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
·Knowledge of OSP/ISP Fiber Environments and relational databases is a plus
·Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
·Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
