Job description

The Creo Modeler / Drafter will develop and maintain detailed 3D models, 2D technical drawings, and engineering documentation supporting the integration of C4ISR components and systems aboard the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV).

The position will work closely with engineers, technicians, fabricators, and Government customers to develop vehicle integration solutions, mounting hardware, fabrication designs, Technical Data Packages (TDPs), and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain system-level 3D CAD models for ACV components, equipment, mounting solutions, and integrated systems using PTC Creo Parametric.
  • Create detailed 2D production and fabrication drawings from 3D models.
  • Develop sheet-metal and fabricated-part designs, including weldments, assemblies, and mounting structures.
  • Produce drawings containing appropriate dimensions, tolerances, fabrication notes, weld symbols, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Develop models and drawings ranging from individual components to complex, multi-part vehicle assemblies.
  • Support development of engineering products and technical data for Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs).
  • Support engineering analyses by providing accurate models, drawings, measurements, and design documentation.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of Technical Data Packages (TDPs).
  • Support development and incorporation of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and other engineering changes.
  • Develop and maintain CAD-based Bills of Material (BOMs) for vehicle systems and multiple vehicle configurations.
  • Support configuration management activities, including drawing revisions, engineering change documentation, BOM updates, and problem reports.
  • Coordinate with engineers and fabrication personnel to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and properly documented.
  • Maintain engineering data and configuration-controlled documentation in accordance with applicable Government and program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency with PTC Creo Parametric.
  • Experience with Creo Sheetmetal and mechanical/fabrication design.
  • Demonstrated experience developing detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings.
  • Experience designing or documenting fabricated metal components, weldments, brackets, mounting structures, and assemblies.
  • Experience supporting drafting, mechanical design, engineering, manufacturing, or production activities.
  • Ability to interpret engineering requirements and translate them into accurate models and production-ready drawings.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawing standards and configuration management practices.
  • Experience developing or maintaining engineering Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, fabricators, program personnel, and Government customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
  • Experience supporting ground-based tactical vehicles, military vehicle integration, shipboard systems, or other DoD platforms.
  • Experience with the development and maintenance of Technical Data Packages (TDPs).
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-31000 and ASME Y14.100.
  • Experience applying GD&T principles.
  • Experience with PTC Windchill / PDMLink for engineering data and configuration management.
  • Experience supporting C4ISR equipment integration or vehicle electronics integration.
  • Experience developing Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Change Notices, drawing revisions, and related configuration-management documentation.
  • Previous experience supporting USMC vehicle programs or the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) is highly desirable.
