Job description

Hours: 4 on 3 off, 3 on 4 off rotating. 6PM-6AM.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for executing a daily plan for movement of all freight within an assigned area.
Essential Functions
  • Gather, monitor, and analyze inventories for forecasted customers
  • Confirm accurate retain and runout times while maximizing payload and on-time performance by analyzing inventories and sales as information becomes available
  • Evaluate and adjust current and future orders based on driver capacity and customer demands
  • Coordinate with Asset Specialists to update known sourcing as changes occur and revise daily operating plan as necessary to ensure operational efficiency
  • Communicate effectively with Load Planners, Scheduling Team Leaders, and external customers on service issues
  • Solicit new and existing customers for freight opportunities

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent business experience; degree preferred
  • Previous logistics dispatch/scheduling experience preferred
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft and logistics application software
  • Ability to solve problems and work in high pressure situations, using independent judgement and discretion
  • Ability to work well in teams with staff and contractors from all departments
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Excellent personal skills and positive attitude
