We are hiring an Application Engineer (Linux Server) to work in Linthicum Heights, MD. Position location is subject to change based on central MD client's needs.

Description:
Perform Linux server system administration functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Stand up, configure, and maintain Linux servers.
  • Monitoring and patching/upgrades to Linux servers and AWS instances.
  • Assist and incorporate security compliance controls as applicable.
  • Support documentation of non-applicable controls.
  • Assist with installation of new or replacement hardware or software.
  • Configure and integrate hardware or software with existing networked infrastructure.
  • Assist with decommission and/or removal of obsolete, excess, or replaced hardware.
  • Document inventory changes.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:
  • All experience and education will be in a technical field directly related to the labor category being proposed and all diplomas, GED certificates, and degrees will be from accredited institutions. Ten (10) years minimum experience and a High School Diploma/GED. Eight (8) years minimum experience and an Associate's Degree. Six (6) years minimum experience and a Bachelor's Degree. Four (4) years minimum experience and a Master's Degree. Two (2) years minimum experience and a Doctorate's Degree.
  • Proficient with Linux. Minimum of 3 years Linux server administration experience (within the last 3 years).
  • Proficient with AWS. Minimum of 1 year of AWS experience (within the last year).
  • Proficient with Ansible. Minimum of 1 year of Ansible experience (within the last year).
  • Experience with patching and upgrading Linux servers and AWS instances.
  • Security + cert

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:
Should have working knowledge, able to use and or support, with some (preferably most) of the following resources and tools:
  • Linux servers
  • AWS
  • Ansible, Salt
  • Docker, Kubernetes
