Bartelt Packaging is looking for a Sub Assembler to join its team. As a Sub Assembler, you will assembles components by following engineering blueprints, other written specifications and verbal instructions.

Does this work interest you?

  • Receives, reviews and prepares the parts kit for assembly; Reviews build manuals that include drawings and bill of materials; Reviews instructions for assembly; arrange parts and materials for the machine to correspond to sales order specifications.

  • Inspects and prepares parts; This may involve removing small quantities of metal to reduce sharp edges and/ or to produce close fit between parts.

  • Drills, taps, or reams holes in metal pieces using hand tools.

  • Aligns components and attach with bolts, screws or various hardware.

  • Uses fixtures to assemble simple assemblies.

  • Assemblies subject to inspection; under supervision of lead assembler.

  • Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.

  • High School degree or equivalent, Technical degree or training preferred.

  • 2 to 4 years' experience as a machinery assembler.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to handle a multi-tasked role and good organizational skills.

  • Math abilities to include knowledge of fractions and decimal equivalents. Basic understanding of Metric system measurements and conversion from inches/feet to mm/cm/m.

  • Ability to use precision measuring procedures.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and general arrangement drawings.

  • Good mental and visual abilities along with good dexterity.

  • Regular attendance and daily punctuality are necessary for performing the job.

  • Ability to lift in excess of 25 lbs.
