Job description

As a Mental Health Practitioner, Clinical Trainee, or Mental Health Professional in Nystrom & Associates Community Based division, you'll work in our ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) program. Mental Health Practitioners provide community-based rehabilitative services to clients ages 18+. This is a great opportunity to work with clients in their homes, where they are most comfortable.

Nystrom & Associates is a group of professional care providers from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, marriage and family therapy, clinical social work, addiction treatment, and nursing who are committed to helping individuals and families that are experiencing personal, emotional, marital, or psychological challenges. We are all about helping!

The purpose of the programs is to help individuals who have a mental illness function independently in their homes or places of residence. Services are provided in four areas: Basic Living and Social Skills, Community Intervention, Medication Education and Transitioning to Community Living. We are looking for a compassionate individual who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the clients we serve.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Provide culturally responsive mental health skills to clients and/or their families (if working with children) in the home, community, and/or school
  • Assist clients in identifying goals for functional improvement and work with them to meet their goals
  • Design and implement treatment/intervention in-home reflective of client needs
  • Receive clinical supervision from a qualified staff, and obtain continuing education units
  • Employees pursuing professional licensure are eligible to participate in Nystrom & Associates' Professional Development Track. The Professional Development Track gives early career therapists the opportunity to work as an Outpatient Therapist after 9 months of providing Community-Based services. This track also has a specific focus on continuing education and an emphasis on training and advancement.
