Job description

The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Rochester is seeking a fellowship-trained Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiologist to join our subspecialty-focused clinical practice with exciting research and education opportunities. The position is full-time and ideal for an academically ambitious candidate with quality diagnostic skills in all facets of musculoskeletal imaging including radiography, CT, and MRI. Diagnostic and procedural MSK ultrasound skills would also be an asset. As part of our MSK radiology team, you will work closely with colleagues across disciplines, including Orthopedic Surgery, Sports Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Rheumatology, Oncology, and Pathology. We pride ourselves on maintaining a strong culture of collaboration and teamwork to deliver the best possible patient care while maintaining a desirable work-life balance.
Our Musculoskeletal Radiology Division is currently comprised of 19 fellowship-trained radiologists in an actively growing department with over 200 staff radiologists and 24 physicists. Our department is well equipped with the latest imaging technologies, including 3T and 7T MRI, PET/MRI, and dual energy and photon-counting CT scanners. Along with full spectrum diagnostic MSK imaging interpretations, the candidate will be expected to perform or supervise routine image-guided arthrogram injections. Of note, cross sectional spine imaging is performed by our neuroradiology division. Spine intervention procedures are performed by a team of MSK and neuroradiologists and would be an optional part of the practice for candidates with relevant expertise.
In addition to clinical care within MSK imaging, the candidate will participate in another established area of expertise in Radiology. Many opportunities exist and the Department of Radiology will work with candidates to identify an appropriate "second home" that meets candidate desires and expectations. Some possibilities include MSK ultrasound, spine intervention, and Hospital & Emergency Radiology. This model offers candidates the opportunity to develop their knowledge and expertise outside of their primary focus.
This is an onsite position, without current teleradiology capabilities. The majority of evening and overnight imaging is covered by our residents and dedicated Emergency & Hospital Radiology Division. MSK Radiologists participate in subspecialized MSK MRI weekday evening and weekend daytime home call, with approximately 3-4 weeks light responsibility per year.
Mayo Clinic provides a wealth of resources to support clinical staff. Academic engagement includes working closely with our four MSK fellows and training our radiology residents. Research contributions along with active participation in our clinical and educational multidisciplinary conferences are additional requirements for the position.
Qualifications
Candidates must have completed or be completing a one-year MSK Radiology fellowship. Eligibility for a MN medical license plus Board certification or board eligibility through the American Board of Radiology is required.
