Description

American Traveler is hiring a Home Health RN with at least 1 year of skilled home care experience and OASIS training to provide skilled visits in patients' homes.

Details
  • Skilled Home Health setting serving Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance patients
  • Handles general medical diagnoses and high-risk conditions including HF, COPD, MI, pneumonia, and stroke
  • Provides post-op care, cardiopulmonary assessment, and basic wound care including ABI compression and wound vac dressings
  • Performs Pleurx/Aseptdrain care, foley catheter changes, staple/suture removal, and PICC line or midline dressing changes
  • Administers SQ/IM injections, performs venipuncture, and accesses/deaccesses SQ ports
  • Completes 6-8 home skilled visits per day
  • Schedule varies based on office needs, including Mon-Fri 8a-5p or 9a-6p shifts, Thurs-Mon or Fri-Tues rotations, and alternating weekend shifts
  • Self-scheduling of visits and hours based on HomeCare office needs
  • Uses laptop, MiFi, and portable printer for documentation via BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet systems
Requirements
  • Active FL or Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of skilled home health experience required; private duty nursing experience alone not accepted
  • OASIS training and experience required
  • Strong IV and phlebotomy skills required, including starting and maintaining IVs
  • Wound care and wound VAC management skills required
  • Experience with blood glucose monitoring and pro-time machine use required
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required for home visits
  • COVID vaccination or exemption form required
  • Flu vaccination or declination required, with mandatory mask wearing at all times if declined
  • Cerner experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Provides direct skilled nursing care to home health patients across a range of general medical and high-risk diagnoses
  • Any solid color scrubs required
  • Must be willing to float within the assigned area or to a nearby affiliate location as needed
  • Former permanent employees must wait at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
  • RTO is not accepted for this contract
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility unless local rate rule applies
